Tumby Bay Marina Motel

The location made it easy to enjoy the beach, birdwatching sanctuary and peaceful grove walks, all a short walk away. It was quiet, with no crowds or noise, and gave us room to relax. We spent five nights at the Tumby Bay Motel on Berryman Street and wished we could have stayed longer. Everything was smooth from arrival, and our room was spotless and well equipped. The showers were excellent, with hot water and strong pressure. We’ll definitely be back.

We stayed two nights with our old boy, since the hotel is quiet and pet friendly. The room was a good size, and the amenities suited it. There was coffee, tea and milk, plus a roomy mini fridge and microwave, handy for reheating food when we were too tired after travelling to go out. Everything is close by. I booked directly because I prefer dealing with the source and not giving websites their cut. It’s hard enough running a business without a middleman. I texted the owner about Wi-Fi, but it was working before he could respond. He said we could contact him anytime if we needed anything. I checked the bed with a blue light and it was clean. The basin had a drainage problem, so I left a note for them to fix it. I’d book here again next time I need a break, and recommend this hotel.

A pleasant surprise for a last-minute overnight stay. The place was clean and private, and the owner was very helpful.

The gardens are overgrown, the gutters are full of leaves and grass, and the pool can’t be used. One bedroom has a huge hole in the wall that’s been covered with a rug. The bathrooms weren’t cleaned properly either, with lots of hair left on the floor. It’s in a very quiet spot away from the main town strip, and the rooms are nicely furnished, but the bed creaked and was uncomfortable. This place needs a lot of TLC.
