Tweed Central Motel

The pool was green, and the room was so bad I didn't want to shower. At least the sheets were clean. The staff member greeted me as if I'd arrived at the best hotel in Tweed, but sadly he was delusional. Disgraceful. Just gross, wouldn't recommend it.

I actually slept well, but the rest of the place felt badly neglected. There were weeds outside, piles of rubbish opposite each door, candle-power room lights and a high price. Every power point and switch was broken, and I wasn't game to touch any of them. The paint looked old, with huge splatters across most surfaces, which made me think nothing gets deep cleaned. I felt itchy as soon as I got into the room, so I bought bug spray and emptied it over the bed and around the room. If you can look past all that and the unsafe electrics, it might be the place for you.

The lights started flickering nonstop at 2:30am. We could leave them on or put up with the disco-like flashing. I called twice before reaching someone after 8:30 and asked the manager to look because I thought it was a fire hazard. I was told the office didn't open until 9:30. The balcony glass door handle was broken and sharp, so we couldn't go outside, and the entrance door took effort to open. The gap underneath was so large it could have let rats or snakes in. The pool was feral. While waiting for management, I spoke with other guests who had no air con and weren't happy. I have video of the flashing lights. Apparently management checked after we left and reported nothing wrong. You have to give at least one star to review this, but it's definitely not worth that. Seriously, don't book here. This place is not safe.

The location was great, and the manager was polite and very helpful. But the room was a disgrace, with an overwhelming smell of bleach. I left in a hurry and won't go back. The whole complex needs major changes and an overhaul.
