The gardens are peaceful and nicely kept, and check-in and check-out were easy. We spent one night in the Garden Cottage and found it comfortable, clean, and well equipped for a short visit. The 1820s heritage building has loads of character, with a cute, cozy design that makes it feel like stepping into another time. It’s quiet at night and in a great location, a lovely change from a standard hotel. We’d gladly stay again, especially if you enjoy historic places and a relaxed atmosphere. 😊

Taking in the history of these barracks, originally built by convicts, made the stay feel really special. We loved the atmosphere and the accommodation, and we’re already looking forward to coming back to explore more. Thanks for having us.

Terry was quick to respond whenever I called, texted, or emailed, and I really appreciated the handwritten welcome notes from Terry and Lynn in the basket. We stayed for two nights with our toddler and grandparents. The historic decor and furniture were lovely, and the beds were comfortable.

We felt secure there and stayed warm and comfortable for our two nights. A handrail fixed to the stair wall would be useful, though.
