The staff were friendly, and the beers were pretty good. I also loved the old photos of timber getting and Derby River Derby in the dining rooms. The meals are huge and great value.

A handy stop if you're travelling through the area. You can run a load of laundry, have a beer or four while you wait, and maybe grab some delicious food or just enjoy the atmosphere. Washing costs $4 for 8kg, and the dryer is $4. The beer price? Who cares, just have one.

Mushroom sauce was my pick, absolutely exceptional. The steak was cooked better than one I recently paid over $100 for at a fancy steak place, and it was the best pub meal I've had in forever. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the huge parmi looked and smelled great too. I was already keen to return for the mountain biking, but Dorset hotel has sealed it. I'm planning another trip to derby.

I spent a week in Derby and ate here several times. The portions were generous, the food delicious and well priced, and the service was great. It has a warm, friendly feel, and the location is perfect for the mountain bike tracks and a beer.

Alice and Max behind the bar were awesome, and Max really knows his stuff, so listen to him. There was a good choice of beer, wine and whiskey, and the food was beautiful with great service. Give big boy Lary a cuddle. We'll be back next year!
