Bel Mondo Apartments

Mario, the owner, was even better than the accommodation. He picked me up from the train station and was always looking for ways to help. I stayed at Bel Mondo for two work nights, and it had everything I needed. My room had a lovely balcony where I spent most of my time. It was quiet, clean, and set up so I could cook dinner and feel comfortable.

Getting around was easy because Bel Mondo Apartment is close to shops, amenities, and everything else you need. The apartment was comfortable and well maintained, and the host was very friendly, kind, and helpful throughout my stay. I had a great visit, would recommend the place, and would happily stay again.

It rained the whole time, so we were counting on the advertised balcony and Wi-Fi to keep us occupied. There was no balcony, the Wi-Fi barely worked, and the free-to-air TV channels weren't working either, leaving us with nothing to watch or do but sit on the lounge. The booking had other inaccuracies too, though those were the main issues. Reception was staffed for only a few hours on Saturday, so we couldn't even complain during our stay, and the staff weren't very welcoming. In response to my booking review, staff said a queen studio didn't include a balcony and that the Wi-Fi was good. But the photos clearly showed a balcony, and the Wi-Fi was terrible. The business has since repeated that it wasn't included, but the screenshots attached show the proof. Don't expect good customer service or what you actually paid for.

The host was friendly and lent me a guidebook after noticing I was travelling. The apartment has free parking and is close to Wollongong Beach and the shopping centre. It's in a residential area, so it may take a little finding at first. The parking entrance is narrow, so take care driving in.
