Banfields Retreat

Mission Beach is a magic place, and the property itself was stunning, clean, and perfectly maintained. But the owners were awful, and we’ll be complaining to the booking service we used. Avoid. On our second night, we caught the lady owner standing outside watching and listening to us. The next night, we had a BBQ and a few drinks with a family we’d flown up to visit, a husband, wife, and their 8yo child. The owners watched, listened, and counted how many people were there. Our friends lived around the corner and didn’t stay. On checkout morning, the owners were outside in the garden demanding we leave at 9.50am. They said we had to pay extra because there had been more than the 4 people we booked for at the property when our friends visited. They also said we’d be charged for using his power to charge our electric hire car for an hour. The owner was extremely aggressive and rude to my wife, and I had to step in. He was too much of a coward to speak to another man that way, but had no problem intimidating a female.
