Licuala Lodge

The hosts, John and Guillem, made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Their warmth and real care for the guest experience made our stay special. We also loved watching wild cassowaries wander through the lush gardens. We can't believe how easy it was to see them here. Licuala Lodge sits on the edge of the rainforest in Mission Beach, and felt like a peaceful slice of paradise. The rustic accommodation was immaculate and tranquil, surrounded by beautiful nature. One of the loveliest B&Bs we've stayed in. We can't wait to return.

On arrival, our host gave us helpful advice about places to eat and what to do the next day. The hosts were genuinely welcoming, kind and friendly, and had thought of everything. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and the lush natural garden made the setting feel peaceful. Breakfast was generous and delicious, though guests can also cook in the kitchen provided. We stayed two nights at Licuala Lodge on our first visit to Mission Beach, and it was a perfect start to our holiday.

After days of traveling and eating out, we were glad to have a communal kitchen and barbecues where we could make a meal ourselves. The garden was peaceful and beautifully cared for, and the hosts were so warm and welcoming, with great suggestions for local sights and activities. Breakfast was a highlight too, fresh and delicious, and clearly made with care. We stayed two nights and loved it. We'd happily come back and recommend the place.
