There were lots of animals to see, and the host was absolutely fantastic. A lovely little place to camp and stay, with a really laid-back feel.

We spent six months here and had a big site with great neighbours. The rates were reasonable, and the new caretakers were amazing, constantly clearing branches and rubbish around the park. Nothing was ever an issue. The toilet block is old but still functional. We had no problems during our stay and would choose this park again if we returned to the Sunshine Coast.

The place is kid-friendly, and lots of families live here. I’m grateful the previous owner let my son and me stay, since finding housing is difficult. I wish the old landlord and management well, and hope the new owners do better, or at least keep things at the same level. I’m a long-term tenant and would have liked to be told about the change of owners, but it is what it is. The new owners have let go of the maintenance man, who used to keep the grounds tidy and bring the rubbish bins back so we could dispose of our rubbish. The birds are gone from the cages now. Maybe the last owner took them, but visitors used to enjoy seeing them. The laundry room’s washing machines no longer work, so we have to take our washing elsewhere. That’s very inconvenient.

There’s plenty of shade, plus lots of lizards and bush turkeys around. The camp kitchen was a nice spot to relax, and the amenities were clean. It’s close to Cole’s and Aldi, with Maroochydore, the beaches and the hinterland not far away. The business owner was friendly, and the managers by the pool gave us good tips about local things to do. We had a great stay at Rainforest holiday village and will come back one day.

We paid for seven nights but left after three. We were so disappointed we didn’t even bother asking for a refund. Our van site was what remained of an old building, with a concrete slab split across different levels, and the toilets kept getting blocked. We’ve travelled all around Australia with our van, and unfortunately this has been the worst park we’ve stayed at. It has so much potential, but it’s seriously neglected. We didn’t see the managers while we were there.
