We were behind schedule with our caravan, so we pulled in without checking the reviews. The trees were nice, but the park was in a sad state. It may once have been basic but pleasant; this was the worst park we've come across. The toilet block needs a professional clean, yet the nightly charge is still $40, like nearby parks that are clean. The electricals also need a safety audit.

The caravan sites are drive-through, and the ensuite showers have lovely water pressure. They serve curry and rice for $35, a generous and tasty meal. The place is due for a makeover, so don't expect the Ritz, but it feels really safe, and you can leave your van while you explore Mt Wudinna, pildappa rock, organ pipes and plenty more. In town, the butchers are excellent, their pork shnittys are the bomb. Foodland is well stocked midweek and the staff are friendly. The pub is open all seven days for lunch and dinner, with $13 meals for seniors. The op shop is open Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 3pm. There's also a camping store and a hardware store. For gas bottle refills, the car wash at the old cottage does them, or it's $37 at hardware and $35 at elders near the telecentre.

After the long drive from Nullarbor, we had a good rest here on the 25th of Dec. The management looked after our needs and provided delicious food.

I wouldn't stay here again. The room smelled awful, and the carpet was disgusting, with a large grease stain. The tiled bathroom floor was sticky, the mirror had been ripped off the wall and not replaced, and the fridge freezer door was broken. It was mid spring, but there was an electric blanket on the double bed. The TV was hard to tune to a local station. It was very overpriced, and I wouldn't want a baby crawling on that filthy floor. Don't stay there.

It's a very remote spot, so don't expect capital city facilities. What you do get is genuine service. The owner is friendly and accommodating, and clearly cares about visitors being comfortable.
