Wildwood Valley

The cottage felt warm and homey as soon as I arrived, and the natural setting around it was stunning. It was nicely designed and furnished, with thoughtful decor throughout, and the kitchen had everything I needed. Mornings were especially peaceful, with birds calling and kangaroos, horses, and sheep grazing nearby. It made a lovely break from the city. A cosy, well-equipped place surrounded by nature, just what I was after.

The setting is the best part. From the chalet you look down the valley towards the ocean, and it really feels tucked away from everything. We saw kangaroos, Blue Wrens, and sheep each day. The Blue Wren chalet was rustic in a charming way and very comfortable, with three bedrooms that would suit a family. The fire was ready when we arrived, the place was warm, and there were electric blankets, heaters, and good quality beds and linen. The kitchen was well equipped too. Belinda at reception was delightful and so accommodating, even finding us a coffee plunger although there was already a coffee machine. We had a great experience from our very last minute booking call through to checkout. Wildwood Valley is well placed for wineries and the coast, and Dunsborough is a short drive away. We’ll be back with our family.

We stayed in Butterfly cottage, with ocean views out front and wildflowers and trees behind. It’s a beautiful spot, central to the wineries. The on-site cooking school is a must, so much fun, and the Thai class ended with an amazing meal that we enjoyed with the friends we’d just made. There are several cottages on the property, so it works especially well for a group. I’d highly recommend it.

We spent a short family visit in Blue Wren and loved it. There was lots of space indoors and out, and the wildlife was close by and lovely to see. The cabins had everything we wanted, all at a high standard. From the lodges, it’s easy to get to vineyards, Margaret River town, several beaches, and beautiful countryside. We all enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
