Il Delfino Seaside Inn

We loved every part of it, from the room and atmosphere to all the lovely little details. It's so close to home for us, but somehow felt a world away. We definitely recommend it and will stay again.

Coming straight from Raes, the difference was stark. In Byron Bay, Raes at Wategos felt like a true five-star stay, with immaculate rooms, a beachfront setting, breakfast included, nightly turndown and staff who made things feel personal. Il Delfino has a stylish look and a great ocean view, but at roughly the same price, there was no staff or service. There was no daily cleaning, only a light clean every four days, no minibar, no room service, and little beyond a coffee pod machine and milk in the fridge. It felt more like an Airbnb at hotel prices. At about $1,000 a night, the place came across as stripped-back and impersonal, with design but little hospitality. If it cost around $500, I might give it 4/5 for the looks alone. At this price, the value just isn't there. The elegant design couldn't make up for the lack of warmth, care or welcome. One place felt world-class, while the other only looked the part. All considered, 2 out of 5 feels generous.

We stayed in Scopello and loved it. The place was spotless, the amenities were beautiful, and it felt like a little slice of heaven. Bec was friendly, welcoming and accommodating, even arranging a last minute provedore for our arrival. Absolutely worth doing, and we couldn't rate it higher. We'll be back!

I've never had a stay quite like this one. All the details felt personal and carefully chosen, and it stood out even next to luxury resorts. The kitchen was set up beautifully, with almond milk, good quality oil and containers, and there were lovely drinks and luxurious body products too. It felt like the comforts and beauty of my own home. I appreciated being able to buy my favorite products from the shop with your own room, along with the cafe recommendations and eco-conscious touches like paper bin bags in the bathrooms. The branding was placed just right, giving the space a refined but welcoming feel. When I travel, I often miss these little luxuries, but here everything felt just right. Thanks for making our weekend getaway so special. I can't wait to return.
