Aruba Tropic Apartments

We spent two weeks here in 2016 on our first trip to Aruba and really loved it. Angelique, who managed the complex, was welcoming and always ready to help. It’s a small, fairly quiet place. The only thing missing from the apartment was a tin opener, which was easy enough to manage without. I can’t think of anything else negative to say. Would I come back? Absolutely, in a heartbeat.

Walking into town each day was easy, with plenty of places to eat, and my T-Mobile GPS worked well for getting around the island. The host had also put us in touch with a nearby car rental. Our two-bedroom apartment had WiFi, TV, air conditioning, a full kitchen, and toiletries in case we’d forgotten our own. Housekeeping came daily if we needed help keeping things tidy. Each apartment also had its own hammock and seating area. The complex has just eight apartments, with guests from all over, plus a gate and parking. We enjoyed the pool, indoor and outdoor showers, and BBQ area. The host was in touch on WhatsApp well before we arrived to make sure we had what we needed. We were given the wrong room at first, but she sorted it out quickly. It was a lovely place to stay away from the busy resort scene, and I’d happily return.

Angelique and Carlos were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. We had a very pleasant week at Aruba Tropic. The apartment was compact but cozy, just right for a couple or someone traveling alone, and there was a table outside each unit by the pool. There’s parking at the apartments. As anywhere on Aruba, having a car is best if you want to explore the island fully. We booked through Airbnb, but they wouldn’t let us leave a review after our visit a couple of weeks ago.

The resort is a little away from the beach and Oranjestad, around 20 minutes out. I spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve on Aruba in 2013, and found it a great holiday destination for Europeans and people from the USA and Central America. Anjelica, the hotel manager, and her partner both spoke English, Dutch, and Spanish, and impressed me with how service-minded they were. Anjelica even welcomed me at the airport when I arrived from Miami. The resort WiFi was very unstable during my stay. Recommended.
