We rented a car through the resort and that went smoothly, with easy parking close by. There are also places to walk to for food and other things to do. Our room was great and stayed well maintained, though we never knew when housekeeping would come and had to be out while they were working. We were a family of four in the Ambassador building across from the main one for a week at the end of October. Check-in was around 1pm, but our room wasn't ready until 3:45. We didn't realize we could leave our bags with security, so we could have gone out in the meantime. The pool and beach chairs are a real competition. Get there early and follow the rules, since regulars are quick to claim their spots. The pool was cared for, but felt more suited to lounging and water exercise than kids splashing around. The beach was okay, though the rough waves kept us out for a day or two. Apparently its orientation means it gets the worst of the waves. The lobby could use more care and air conditioning, but the staff and management do a good job looking after such a large property.

The decor feels a little dated, but there's a lot to enjoy here, including plenty of amenities and good happy-hour drink specials. It's very close to the water, and the staff are really friendly. A great place to stay.

The beachfront location is great, and the food was excellent. My main problem was all the renovation work going on during my vacation while guests were being booked in. They should've closed the place for a week or so before taking bookings. Even with that, it's a great place overall.

Our water was off all day today because of renovation work, and there aren't any dishwashers. I asked housekeeping twice to bring paper towels to the room and they never did, which made me feel like they didn't care about guests. The beach is rough compared with the stretch around the corner on Eagle Beach proper. I'd avoid Casa del Mar and stay somewhere else.
