I’ve owned a timeshare at Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort on Aruba with my husband for more than 18 years. The property may not be as polished as some Marriott places, but our experience has been much better overall. The stuffy, almost cult-like attitude among the timeshare owners at the M properties is actually offensive to us. I’m writing to the people making corporate decisions at Divi. I’m here now, during weeks 38-40, and seeing renovations, upgrades, and construction across almost every Divi property on Aruba. That seems good for owners, but when so many major changes are happening all at once, it raises a question: is there another motive? Are Divi’s corporate decision-makers planning to sell? If so, please don’t sell to Marriott. You’d be selling your soul. If we’d wanted to be part of that kind of following, we would have left long ago.
