Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort

The location was perfect, and the rooms were nice, well kept, and problem-free. The housekeeper was reliable and came on time. I do wish there were a gym and washer-dryers here, instead of having to use the big-sister hotel across the street. The service was perfect. Melisa Maduro-Croes and her staff were excellent. When our agent let us down on arrival, Ms. Croes was patient and kind and made sure my husband and I had a room taken care of. I’d return just because of her. Thank you, Ms. Croes!

The marina that takes you directly to flamingo beach and brings you back is the highlight for me. I highly recommend this resort in Aruba and will stay here again when I return. There’s a nice pool with a bar, pleasant rooms, and friendly staff who are always ready to answer questions. The area has pretty much everything, from shopping and places to eat to two casinos. They can help arrange taxis for getting around and also assist with excursions.

Flamingo Island was wonderful, with a beautiful beach and a memorable experience. That was the reason for our one-night stay on the Marina, adults-only side. The hotel itself didn’t feel worth the high price. The pool was the worst part. There’s a strip of shiny, marble-looking tile around it that’s very slippery, and despite walking carefully, I fell hard after just three steps. There were lots of warning signs, and afterward we saw quite a few people nearly slip too. I can’t comment on the Ocean Hotel, since we didn’t go there, but be careful around the Marina pool. The outdoor parking lot is about a block away. The lobby looks nice and is open to the outside, but gets hot and humid if you spend time there. Our sixth-floor Marina-view room was lovely, though it had design problems: the bathroom barn door slid open after being closed, there was no fan in the shower area, and the vanity mirror looked like it should light up but didn’t. The barn doors over the closet and coffee bar had only one light switch, so the closet stayed lit all night. We had to wedge a towel under the door that wouldn’t stay shut.

Flamingo Island was beautiful, peaceful, and fun, and we had a great view of Carnival. This is a good location for a quieter vacation on the more adult part of the island, with town within walking distance. Without the all-inclusive package, you pay for each drink. The bars aren’t connected, so you can’t open a tab and use it at all of them.
