Casalina Garden Apartment Aruba

The pool was large and nice, but we didn't use it because of the mosquitoes. They were also constantly getting into our room even with the door shut. The greenery throughout the property was overgrown and blocked pathways, and although the front gate had a lock, you could reach through the fence and turn the knob from inside. The listing said Tommy Bahamas beach chairs, but we got cheap soccer pop-up chairs. For what we paid, I expected better. We stayed four nights at Judy’s place through Airbnb. She was nice, let us check in early, and answered questions and issues quickly. Our studio was modern and had good hot water, but the outdoor kitchen was old and full of bugs, including maggots. Aruba is very windy, and the gas stove kept blowing out, so it was useless. The biggest problem was the WiFi. The listing promised 256mbps download speeds and said it was great for remote work. Across all three of my devices, the best I got was 17mbps and the worst was 1. I raised it with Judy and support, but it was never fixed. She said our device was the problem, though none of the three worked properly, and I shared proof with her. She offered an early checkout, but during New Year's week we had nowhere else to go. Airbnb agreed with me and gave me a partial refund. UPDATE: I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I had to share this. Judy left a poor review of me on Airbnb that was all lies. After I contacted Airbnb and shared our chats, they decided to remove her review, and took it down (see picture). My wife and I both left reviews because we wanted to share our experience. SAVE YOUR MONEY. SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE. DON'T STAY HERE.

The apartments are cozy, with a lovely inner garden and pool. Service was very nice. The location works well if you like a quiet spot but still want easy access to livelier tourist facilities.

The listing showed comfortable Tommy Bahama chairs, but what we got were awful camping chairs. The pool could have been nice, but it was dirty, with leaves and dead bugs. The grounds were badly overgrown and there were an insane number of bugs and mosquitoes. The outdoor kitchen sounds good in theory, but wind kept blowing out the gas stove so nothing could cook, and we got eaten alive while standing there. The photos don't look like the property at all. Judy was very unpleasant. I'm shocked by all the good reviews and don't recommend staying here. There are plenty of better Airbnbs in Aruba.

We spent a lot of time unwinding by the recently renewed pool after the beach. It’s spacious and inviting, and the atmosphere is peaceful. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. Our accommodations had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is both convenient and quiet, with the beach a short walk away. Other lovely beaches to the north are easy to reach by car or even on foot. A very relaxing Aruba stay, highly recommended.
