The Mill Resort & Suites

The beach was nice, but getting an umbrella was almost impossible. Even early in the day, towels or shoes marked the chairs as occupied. Sometimes people showed up three or four hours later, sometimes not at all, and the attendants didn't seem to care. I guess it depends on how much you tip them. The rooms cost much less than the beachfront hotels, and the location is across the street from the beach. The shuttle worked fine and breakfast was good. Housekeeping were nice and made the bed perfectly, but twice they left us without toilet paper, never refilled the shower soap, and didn't top up the Kleenex box. I wish I could give this five stars. The bathroom opens into the bedroom, with glass doors on the toilet and shower that leave a two-inch gap and don't give you real privacy. The double sink is also in the bedroom, so someone using the bathroom at night wakes the other person. Sorry, I wouldn't come again.

The check-in staff were friendly, professional, and helpful, and we were greeted with fresh fruit and champagne. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and we slept well. The pool had plenty of entertainment, food, and drinks. There's also free breakfast on site. The location is perfect, with a beach shuttle. There are two hotels on the property, Courtyard by Marriott and The Mill. A must stay. Thanks to Samantha, John, and bellman (Jose).

The laid-back, friendly atmosphere was a highlight. Staff were warm and helpful, the pools were nice, and the small bar and casual restaurant made for an easy afternoon. We liked having drinks by the pool, and breakfast was simple but good. Our suite was clean, bright, and comfortable, with a kitchenette that came in handy for snacks and quick meals. Some rooms are more basic, so check what's included when booking. It's just across from Palm Beach and close to the sand, shops, and restaurants, without beachfront prices. You can walk or take the shuttle. The Mill Resort Aruba felt like a solid, fairly priced option for comfort and convenience, whether you're a family, a couple, or visiting to explore the island.

We went to The Mill for the club and after-hours scene, not to stay in the rooms. If loud music until 5 AM isn't for you, I wouldn't recommend sleeping there. IMO, Airbnb is the way to go in Aruba 100%. After-hours options on the island are limited, so this is the place to go. The hip-hop and electro sets were a mood, and even with overpriced drinks, the usual Aruba nightlife tax, we had a lot of fun. Most of the crowd arrives drunk, so stick with your crew to avoid potential chaos. The staff were the MVPs. We went twice and got full VIP treatment both times, and they earned their tips on our exaggerated tabs. Pro tip: greet and tip the doormen as soon as you enter. It changed the whole night. Security kept an eye on us and even walked us through the parking lot to our car when we were ready to leave. That peace of mind was welcome close to 5 AM, especially with my girl looking 11/10 in her island fit. I mean, if you know, you know!
