The manager made us feel welcome when we got in at 22.00, sweaty after a long cycle ride. They had water ready and said the kitchen could still make us food. The room was very comfortable, and all the staff were professional. There’s an amazing swimming pool, plus a small one for children.

The rooms were completely neglected, with yellow curtains and pillowcases and sheets that were literally black and clearly hadn’t been washed. The pool’s sanitation is questionable too. From check-in onward, staff kept trying to charge extra for services that were included. They’d sometimes settle down, then make a scene again later in the day. We strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

I haven’t seen a hotel this worn out in 20 years, not even back in the Soviet Union. I don’t know how it’s still standing, and there are no air conditioners. We first booked an economy room for two, but the bed was only 120cm wide, so we paid to upgrade to a standard room. We had to book breakfast because there wasn’t a cafe nearby. At 8:00, we found the cook asleep on a bench by the kitchen and decided to skip breakfast that day. Getting the breakfast money back took me 30 minutes. They did refund it, but the 10 manat bills turned out to be fake. I absolutely don’t recommend this place.
