Basqal Resort & Spa

We had a great time here. Muhabbat, the manager, was professional and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a fantastic location, and there’s plenty for families to do. The facilities were clean and high quality.

The spa was so relaxing, and the whole place had a peaceful feel. We found everything clean and comfortable, and things were well-organized. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help. We had a wonderful stay at Basqal Hotel and Spa and were very satisfied. I’d definitely recommend it for a calm, pleasant getaway.

The staff were polite, helpful, and professional, and they let us check in before the official 15:00 time, which we appreciated. Still, a lot of the stay was disappointing. The hotel didn’t meet our expectations once we’d checked in and seen the facilities. We asked for a refund, but they refused because check-in was complete, so we ended up staying. We were unhappy with several parts of the stay and checked out early, at around 10:00 in the morning. Parking was a hassle. The lot is far from the building, so you have to walk over after parking. Valet is available, but I prefer not to use it. In freezing weather, the walk of about 120 meters was especially inconvenient. I understand there may be reasons for the parking setup, but if parking is available directly beneath the hotel, letting guests use it would be more convenient. The late check-out charge also seemed excessive and unfriendly to guests: even one extra hour costs half a day’s room price. We asked about it at check-in. At many hotels, a short extension can be arranged when there’s availability, sometimes with a complimentary upgrade if one is possible. There was a noticeable waste or sewer smell on the entrance level near the restaurant. Those odors can point to hygiene or maintenance problems. If maintenance work was going on, the area should have been restricted or isolated, especially so close to dining spaces. The spa was cold and uncomfortable. The steam room seemed too large for its equipment, with so little steam that it wasn’t effective. It should be properly prepared for guests expected to use the spa, instead of making them ask for adjustments after arriving. The gym equipment was very basic and felt cheap for a hotel at this level, and the rooms were quite small. In the shower, the water took a long time to warm up. Breakfast was another letdown. I tried the sütlaç, and the taste and texture were extremely poor, almost like rocky mud. That was surprising. I’m sharing an honest guest perspective, not trying to argue with the hotel. The facilities, maintenance, breakfast, and policies need serious improvement. Hospitality standards and customer service training could make the experience much better for future guests. Despite the good staff, based on my stay I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

The staff were some of the nicest and friendliest I’ve met at a hotel. Mr. Vugar and his team are doing a fantastic job, and special thanks to mr.Mehebbet, our personal assistant. He helped us with literally everything, from the first hour after we arrived right up to our last moments before leaving. The quiet setting is a big part of what makes this place so relaxing. You’re surrounded by trees, and it’s so silent you can’t even hear cars. It’s one of the best places I’ve found for relaxing and clearing your mind. The hotel has plenty of activities to fill your time, too. I’d recommend coming with your wife or as a couple. I’ve been to many places around the world, and I’ll definitely come back!
