Duzdag Hotel

I spent 18 days at Duzdag Hotel in April-May 2023, mainly to try the salt cave treatment. As far as I know, it's the only effective treatment available for people with asthma and other respiratory diseases, and it really helped me. I strongly recommend that people with asthma try staying at the hotel and taking the treatment for a couple of weeks. The treatment means spending the night in the salt cave, roughly from 10.30 pm until 7.30 am. The hotel is a 5-10 minute drive away and provides daily transport there and back. Both the treatment and three buffet meals a day are included in the hotel price, with different dishes and salads offered each day. There are also pools, a sauna, and water slides on the grounds, but none were working during my stay. Management said they would be put into operation soon.

Don't expect a 5 star experience here. The rooms aren't despicable, but bring your own toilet paper, toothpaste, and other basics, and don't count on having water. English isn't spoken. If you ask the maids nicely to clean, be prepared for them to yell at you in Turkish. Do yourself a favor and stay at hotel Tabriz downtown instead.

There isn't much to do around the hotel, and the water park is just two water slides, so don't trust the pictures. Our room wasn't clean either. We booked for three people, but it had only two beds. They said another bed would arrive soon, then brought just a mattress for the floor in this so-called 5star hotel. The food was very bad, and the staff weren't kind or able to speak English. A terrible experience. Honestly, don't go there.

Duzdag recreation complex is close to the salt mine and has spacious rooms, lots of facilities, and the comfort and luxury you'd expect of a 5-star place. The cuisine was delicious and healthy, and there were interesting kinds of entertainment. A wonderful resort.
