Zepter Hotel

I come to Dubica for business every year and make a point of staying here. It’s a beautiful hotel on the Una river, which divides Bosnia from Croatia, and the town centre is just a 2 minute walk away. The path along the riverbank is well worth a trek. The rooms are well appointed, with en-suites, televisions, free wi-fi and balconies. If you can get a room facing the river, waking to its sound is lovely. The whole hotel is sparkling clean, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The restaurant serves traditional and local food alongside the usual favorites. There’s also a salon and a gym, though I haven’t had the energy after a day’s work to try either. Great facilities in a beautiful spot. 10/10 from me.

Zepter is one of the nicest places to stay or socialise in Kozarska Dubica, and it draws some amazing crowds, especially in summer. The food and drinks are quality, with a good wine selection. I also love the relaxing feel of the place, the soothing river sounds, and the lovely terrace with comfortable seating. It’s ideal for soaking up some sun and letting your imagination run wild.

I stop in for a hot chocolate, and it’s fabulous. It’s handmade to get that unique texture and flavour, which takes a good 2-3 minutes. Smooth, creamy, heavenly, absolutely divine. The service is fantastic, the food and beverage choices are excellent, and the ambience is really pleasant.

The staff are polite, and the hotel looks nice, but be careful in winter. There aren’t many guests then, and the heating is very poor. The rooms are heated only by the room AC, which works only when the keycard is in the room. If you’re out all day, you’ll freeze when you get back.
