Hotel & Distillery Monogram

I came back with my family for a quiet lunch this time, rather than an overnight stay. The atmosphere is peaceful and the food was really excellent. It was superb when I stayed last November, too. If you're passing on the main road, it's worth taking the short detour. The place is close by but still nice and quiet. A sincere recommendation.

The restaurant was good, the staff friendly, and the bed very comfortable. In the morning, all I could hear was birds. I also liked the nature, the design, and the cool mood of the place. I had a perfect rest. Still, by Western standards it doesn't really feel like a four-star hotel, with quite a few little things missing: smells from the sinks, no kettle or minibar in the room, and the daily menu isn't written out, so you find out halfway through that some items are unavailable. We had a main course for a table of seven, but the serving was so small it barely seemed enough for four. Four people weren't at the table when it arrived. When they came back, we asked for another dish and got the dismissive response, "pa gdje su bili?". Is that acceptable? Put yourself in our shoes. It's shameful. We weren't the only table served so poorly, in either the quantity of food or the quality of service. I also wouldn't recommend having your wedding there. The per-person price was far higher than the meal actually served, and both the staff and the owner were unpleasant. It felt like a rip-off. Zero.

The staff were the friendliest, the room was clean and modern, and the food was delicious. The brandy was exceptional, too. If I could spend the rest of my life visiting just one hotel on Earth, I'd pick this one. Can't wait to go back! 😍
