Guesthouse Aurora

The people hosting us were lovely. Everything was very clean, including the rooms and bathroom, and breakfast was decent and filling.

The owners live in the building with their family and made us feel like part of it. Their parents even put together a wonderful breakfast for us. The hostel is small and quiet, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, and it's only a five-minute walk to the historic old bridge. Since opening in 2016, everything has been brand new and extremely clean. A safe, quiet, very comfortable place. I highly recommend Aurora.

I went during the low season, so the stay was really cheap, but the place was still very nice. Since we were the only people there, we could use the bathroom in the main corridor privately. The hostess was kind, and so was her mother, who made us a delicious breakfast.

I stayed here on 13 Sep. The room and location were good, but they don't tell you the bathroom is shared, so be aware. I had told the owner I expected to arrive around 10 pm and got confirmation that was okay. When I arrived, they were asleep and acted as though I'd woken them; they seemed quite moody. Because it was late and I couldn't find a shop that took cards, I asked if I could exchange some Mark. They kindly exchanged some euros, but didn't have enough cash to give me the full amount. I said no worries, they could give me the rest the next morning. At checkout I politely reminded the owner that she owed me 10 euro. She seemed surprised I was asking for my own money and insisted she'd given me the exact amount the night before. She asked five times why she owed me, and I calmly explained. Then her father came out angry, and her mother came too, shouted at me, and slammed the door in my face. 😑 Ten euro means nothing to me, but it seemed a fortune to these poor souls. Be aware, they might steal your money. 💰
