I could easily have stayed longer here without getting itchy feet. The calm, welcoming atmosphere made it easy to settle in, and the host was so kind and helpful. She gave me great tips on what to see around Mostar, and also took time to chat with me about life, what brought her there, and the story behind the place. The hostel felt homely, with a very clean bathroom and a clean, comfortable bed.

I found the hostel uncomfortable and unwelcoming, and at times hostile. During the night, the host came into the dorm several times, which felt intrusive and unsettling, and she would sometimes turn off the air conditioning while guests were asleep in the intense summer heat. There was no proper blanket or comforter, just a thin blanket cover, so sleeping was uncomfortable. She also touched guests' belongings without permission. I overheard her curse at guests she disliked, including calling one person “stupid” for hanging clothes on the bedframe. One night she stormed into the dorm and aggressively confronted me for helping another guest put a small piece of luggage beside mine. When I politely asked for help arranging a taxi to Goranci village, she looked irritated and walked away without helping. She also charges €8 just to store luggage, which felt unreasonable and like she was taking advantage of travelers. The way she treated guests felt patronizing and controlling, as if we were schoolchildren, with constant nagging and no sense of personal space. After my stay she sent me a message saying: “Be ashamed of your comments, and the gentleman who slept above you on the bed will answer you all, your comment means nothing to me, and neither do you, your arrogant and disgusting behavior, which surprised me for someone from Malaysia because in the 12 years since I have had a hostel, I have had more than 700 guests from Malaysia. Slamming doors, making noise, pushing me, the owner of the hostel, is unacceptable, extremely rude. Behind your face is a rude and uncultured person. Such behavior in my country is unacceptable. We have informed BOOKING about your behavior and disrespect for the house rules. You forgot that you came to my hostel or to my country, so you should behave according to NON-EUROPEAN rules of culture. Your comment is 0NOLA, it means nothing to me.” I hope this helps other travelers decide whether this place is right for them, especially anyone expecting basic respect, comfort, and hospitality.

The day tour Tiffani helped me arrange ended up being the best one I’ve ever taken. She looked after guests like family, and the hostel, bathrooms included, were spotless. I liked it so much I asked to stay an extra night, but it was full. Tiffani still went out of her way to help me find somewhere else. This place deserves 10 stars!
