Guest House Ćiro

Guest House Ćiro was quiet, clean, and a good place to get a night's sleep. We stayed for three days and enjoyed it. It's handy for Baščaršija if you don't mind climbing some steep, narrow streets. Free street parking is possible nearby, though you need to look around for a spot.

The little kitchen was useful, and bakeries and markets are only about 100 meters away. Baščaršija is around 300 meters off, so you can get into town quickly. The clean rooms and house, plus a terrace looking out toward the city and hillside homes, made this feel like a five-star guest house to me. One house in front blocks part of the view, but it's not too bad. If you're arriving by car, ask the owner about using his garage for peace of mind. The streets are really narrow.

We got in very late after our breakdown in Croatia, and the friendly hosts arranged some food delivery and offered us local beers. The owner even moved one of his cars so all our bikes could go in the secure garage. There are a few steps to manage with panniers, but it wasn't too bad. The rooftop view over Sarajevo in the morning was amazing.

The internet connection was poor, and there were no phones in the rooms. There isn't breakfast, and the place has more of a hostel feel, but I'd still recommend it. The location is very good, close to Bascarsi and the tomb of Aliya İzzet BEGOVIC, with markets and a bakery nearby. The rooms are clean and practical, the kitchen area has what you need, and the terrace is pleasant. Parking fits two cars; I found a spot for ours for 5 euro a day. Sarajova is a city of sadness and sorrows, and also an Ottoman city.
