Our room was spacious and well equipped, with an espresso machine, USB sockets, and good quality toiletries. The bathroom was compact but had everything we needed. The front desk is staffed around the clock, and the team were friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast is served in the hotel’s own restaurant, inside or outside. It stood out for its local products, including proper cheeses, cured meats, and fresh bread in several varieties. Eggs are available à la carte, and the coffee was good, both Bosnian and Italian style. One small letdown was the juice, which tasted more like watered-down syrup than real juice, a little out of place with the otherwise high-quality breakfast. Opened in 2024, this boutique hotel sits on a quiet hillside just above the old town (Baščaršija), a few minutes’ walk from the main sights and away from the immediate bustle. The design uses plenty of natural materials and warm colours, and feels cohesive without being overdone. It’s beautifully designed, with warm, attentive service. Highly recommended for Sarajevo.

The bright breakfast room was a lovely start to the day, and there was a good selection of food. The hotel is on a hill, about a seven-minute walk from the Old Town, and staff were quick to answer my questions before I arrived. Most receptionists were helpful and responsive, though one was an exception. The rooms were clean and pleasant but rather small, with thin walls and doors that let you hear other guests. I also found it odd that some rooms didn’t include skin lotion as a standard amenity for a four-star hotel. The bins and recycling area right outside means you have to walk past a bit of a mess to reach the entrance.

We held our wedding dinner and celebration at Hotel Baskuca, and the staff made the whole evening run smoothly. They were flexible and attentive, and every guest told us it was the best wedding dinner and event they’d ever been to. Leon, the manager, worked with us throughout and made the planning feel easy. My wife and I stayed at the hotel too. Our room had a distinctive design and beautiful city views, with modern comforts and a touch of local character. The food was another highlight. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and the lunch, dinner, coffee, tea, and other drinks were consistently excellent. Hotel Baskuca is also steps from the city center, which made exploring Sarajevo very convenient. Everyone we met, from management to the staff, was friendly and professional. We’d choose it again without hesitation when we return, whether for a visit or a special event.

The price feels well matched to the service, and I hope they keep up this level of professionalism. Rooms are very clean and hygienic, comfortable, and up to European standards. The minibar is well stocked with good-quality products. There are places to sit both indoors and outdoors in the backyard, and the Turkish coffee and other coffees are excellent. It’s a four-star hotel close to Baščaršija, the old market, and right next to Kovači Cemetery. The staff are highly professional.

Reservations are essential here. We had a wonderful evening at this newly opened hotel and restaurant. The decor is beautiful, and there’s a private garage. Prices are a little on the high side, but still reasonable. I’d recommend it.
