Santosha Barbados

We loved winding down on the big deck in the evenings, sipping cocktails and watching the sunset colour the sky. With the ocean breeze and all the natural surroundings, it was hard to leave that spot. Our suite had a treehouse feel and blended nicely into the landscape. We woke each morning to the ocean and rustling leaves, which made for a lovely start to the day. The pool, deck, and landscaped gardens all added to the peaceful setting. The staff were friendly and attentive, and their local dining suggestions were great. The hotel does show some wear, but it gives the place a lived-in character that felt authentic to us. We left feeling refreshed and would love to come back. Santosha Windy Hill exceeded our expectations as a quiet getaway with beautiful views and a distinctive place to stay.

The photos are very misleading and should be updated to show the property as it is now. My stay was terrible, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The room smelled horribly stale, like it hadn’t been aired out in ages. Everything seemed extremely outdated, the fan didn’t work properly, and the towels and sheets badly needed replacing. There were bugs everywhere, which made the room even more uncomfortable. The pool area could be set up much better. I’m not sure who’s writing the positive reviews for this hotel.

I came away feeling peaceful and ready to return to the East of Barbados, which was a first for me. Santosha gave me a chance to tune out all the noise and take time for myself or my relationship. The natural views were everything, and listening to the ocean waves was therapeutic. Thank you, Santosha!

We were there for four nights in December 2024, over the Half Marathon and Marathon weekend. The views were excellent, and the location worked really well. The on-site manager was very helpful with local information. You do need a car to visit, but Speightstown on the west coast is only an 18-minute drive away.
