Esaw Place

The apartments have plenty of space and everything you need, with a lovely sea view and a refreshing breeze in a peaceful neighborhood. It feels restful here, while Oistins and Saint Lawrence Gap are still close by when you want somewhere livelier. The real heart of Esaw Place, though, is Sheila and Eric. They’re caring, helpful hosts who make you feel at home. The flats are great value, too. 💗 It’s such a feel-good place on beautiful Barbados! 💗

We really should have booked a longer stay at ESAW place. Sheila and Eric made us feel welcome from the start, with breakfast supplies in the fridge for our first morning and cold Banks beer waiting when we arrived. Eric took us to the market for groceries the next day and showed us around so we could get our bearings. He and Sheila also pointed out places to eat and enjoy ourselves, including Chicken Rita's and Surfer's Bay, both within walking distance. They brought us to other local favorites too, like Johnny Cool's at Dover Beach, Worthing Square, and Oistins Fish Fry, where we met their friends and got a genuine local experience. Our room #3 was just right for us: a very clean, bright studio with everything needed to make our own meals and a great ocean view. The breeze kept it comfortable, so we never needed to use the air conditioning, which is available for a small cost. Sheila and Eric are kind and went out of their way to help our vacation run smoothly, with lots of useful tips. We’ll be back to ESAW place soon and wouldn’t choose anywhere else.

The best part of staying at Esaw Place was how quickly Eric and Shelia helped us feel at home on the island. They’ve lived in Barbados for years and know all the little things that make a visit easier. At Oistins Fish Fry, for instance, going with the unofficial mayor and first lady made a packed Friday night feel like we were being treated like royalty. Even ordering a rum and coke felt special when we learned how it’s done the Barbados way. Their local knowledge shaped almost every part of our trip, and that kind of care is beyond price. The accommodation itself is a great value and has everything you need. Our clean, comfortable one-bedroom had a full kitchen, a three-piece bathroom, and large windows that let in the tropical breeze. There’s plenty of parking if you rent a car, and the Wi-Fi worked amazingly well. Air conditioning uses tokens, which seems fair given how expensive electricity is on the island, and it was handy when we wanted to cool down. The airport is only a quick 15-minute drive, and Esaw Place is close to everything else we wanted to see. Chicken Rita’s, maybe the best chicken on the planet, is a five-minute walk away, as is Surfers Bay, a nice pub and eatery right by the ocean. You can visit either from anywhere on the island, but staying with Eric and Shelia made the local places feel much more welcoming. Esaw Place was among the island’s best deals for accommodation, and we’ll be back in the near future.
