Bon Vivant Villa

We had three generations of family together at Bon Vivant, and everyone had an incredible vacation, despite our different activity and meal preferences and all the food allergies and dietary restrictions. The food was more than exceptional, and the staff were warm, kind, and went out of their way to make the stay great. The villa is a short walk from the beach and convenient for activities around the island. It’s the most incredible place to stay!

Esma, the house manager, did a wonderful job coordinating groceries, tee times, a boat day, and everything else our group needed. She was very communicative and helpful, and the villa owners were fantastic to work with. We had no complaints, just wished we could have stayed longer, and hope to return soon. We had an amazing weeklong spring break at Bon Vivant Villa with eight adults and eight kids. It worked incredibly well for multiple families with active kids. The pool is beautiful and great for children, and there’s also a trampoline, basketball court, and more. The food was incredible, really elevated. We could also use Sandy Lane Resort amenities like the private beach club, spa, and golf. We’ve stayed at Tryall in Jamaica before, and this experience was comparable, if not better.

The beach at Sandy Lane was one of the best three we’ve ever visited, with clear blue water, chairs, food and drink service, and cold eucalyptus towels. We could easily spend the whole day there, and there are several lovely golf courses nearby. At the villa, our multigenerational group, grandma in her 70s, four adults in their 40s, and four children aged 3-9, all had a wonderful time. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and air conditioned; the pool was huge and just the right temperature. The grounds were beautifully kept, with occasional monkey visitors, a trampoline, gym, basketball, pickleball, and ping pong. Meals were fresh and delicious for everyone. The attentive staff cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Bon Vivant worked perfectly for our family. A car is handy for getting to the villa, beach, and around the island. Nearby restaurants are good but very expensive, so next time I’d eat all our meals at the villa. Talk with the staff, they care about their work and want you to have a great stay. Pack less than you think you need since laundry is done a few times. If mosquitoes bother you, bring or buy repellent and bed nets; they helped us a lot. Sunshine Kula Yoga is a lovely place, just a five minute walk from the villa.

The house staff made such good meals that our group never went out to eat. Beth, Brent and Esma were wonderfully hospitable. There’s plenty of space on the property, with lots of greenery where you can spend time together or find a quiet spot alone. I liked starting the morning with a book while my friends headed to the pool. We had a lovely time in Barbados, and the place works well for groups large or small. Highly recommend, 10/10.
