Fairmont Royal Pavilion

The location has a lovely feel, with a beautiful beach and amazing views from the rooms. The rooms themselves were good. Still, the price set our expectations higher for service and dining, and both disappointed. There are only two restaurants on site, and neither seemed up to a five-star standard. Beach service was almost nonexistent, so we kept trying to get the bar staff’s attention. If you want to lie back and simply enjoy the beach, you may want to think twice.

The beach is absolutely stunning, and the location near nice eateries is what earns the three stars. The rooms feel four-star at best, even though the hotel charges four season prices, and they’re due for an upgrade sooner rather than later. We got one bottle of mineral water for the entire stay, and there weren’t even wine glasses in the room. Everything, staff included, felt tired. The main restaurant restrooms looked about 25 years old, and the food was average at best. As an Accor platinum member, I received no recognition. I’ve never felt less welcome at an Accor property when checking in. Wouldn’t recommend, and the three stars are generous.

Being right on the beach with great views is the best thing about this hotel. The rooms are old and need renovation, and we took pictures as examples. Service was inconsistent. Given what our suite cost, we felt robbed because we didn’t get nearly the value for our money. This hotel doesn’t deserve to be a Fairmont, and we won’t return.

Our Butlers Rolston and Dawn were fantastic. The restaurant service, though, was very slow, and we waited an hour and a half just to get a table. Fresh orange juice was often unavailable, and the Fitness Centre was out of order. The hotel is very old and needs updating to be a five-star property. Cindy Wood
