The room looked out over the pool and the sunset, which was a lovely view. It was dated, but had everything we needed for five nights, including air conditioning and a walk-in shower. The property itself is older and well used, though clean and tidy throughout. Staff were wonderful and kept topping up our water at meals before we even had to ask. Drinks were plentiful and top quality, with several bars to choose from, including by the pool and beach. This was our first visit to Barbados, as part of a two-island trip. We were sad to leave after five nights, but excited for the next stop. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone considering Barbados.

The staff were the worst part of the holiday. They all seemed unfriendly, as if working there was a punishment, so despite the nice location, I wouldn’t return. The hotel and room were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I was surprised there wasn’t a minibar in the room, since I’d booked all inclusive. Food was okay, but there wasn’t much choice. Dinner was à la carte rather than a buffet, and we had to book a dinner time during breakfast, which I’d never encountered before. The cocktails were great.

The location made it easy to walk into Holetown and reach several restaurants nearby. The restaurant food was very good, and Carmela and Tatyana provided especially good service. Sylvia and Kareene were warm and attentive at the Sunset Bar, Trevon was consistently helpful around the pool, and most of the housekeeping staff were pleasant and accommodating. There were some real frustrations, though. The hotel beach is practically nonexistent, and the rooms feel dated and need refurbishment. Rough seas meant water sports weren’t available during our entire two-week stay. Most of the pool bar staff came across as rude and unhelpful, as if serving us was a nuisance. Housekeeping was disappointing in the second week, when we had a different housekeeper. We had to keep asking for tea, coffee, and fresh towels, and the bathroom still hadn’t been cleaned after three days. When we politely pointed this out, the response was defensive and unprofessional. The woman cleaning the ladies’ toilets by the main pool and seating area was also consistently unfriendly, hard to approach, and very aggressive. That really affected the atmosphere. Those experiences outweighed the good parts of our stay at The Club Barbados Resort & Spa. We won’t be back.

We had a lovely staycation for my birthday, and we're planning to come back. The entertainment was good, and the staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. We enjoyed the food, especially the food truck during the day, alongside breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner.

The beds and drinks were just right for us, and the resort had plenty of spots to choose from. You could join aqua aerobics with a group, settle in for a spa treatment, or relax by one of three pools. Each pool had its own feel: swimming, volleyball, or strolling and chatting. There were activities throughout the day, but it was just as nice to sit and watch the sea and sky and hope to spot monkeys. The Club Barbados struck a good balance for my wife and me: a comfortable size, neither too lively nor too quiet, with food that wasn’t too bland or spicy. The guests were varied, and the staff were neither intrusive nor distant. Goldilocks would be happy here. We are.
