Barbados Beach Club Resort - All Inclusive

The beach was the highlight for me. It's beautiful, and the pool area stays quiet, though the sunbeds get taken quickly. The food was tasty, and I had no complaints about the meals, but if you want something different, you'll need to ask a staff member since the options may not suit everyone. The bar opens around 10 or 10:30 and closes at midnight, which felt a shame. It did stay open a little later for New Year's, which I appreciated. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with good air conditioning. My first impression was less positive: the receptionist spoke sharply and didn't make us feel welcome. I was also surprised that the cashiers closed at certain hours, so you couldn't pay by card for their “tax policy.”

The online listing gave me a very different idea of what to expect. In my experience, the place doesn't meet basic standards for comfort, cleanliness, food, or service, and I would think twice before booking. It felt more like a dated motel than a resort. The property looked neglected and unclean, with paint peeling in places. The food was awful, poorly made and far below even basic expectations. I've stayed at many good properties while traveling, and this was a deeply disappointing visit.

We really enjoyed our time here and would come back. The beach is a lovely long stretch and never felt crowded, and the hotel itself feels authentic. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the food is great, with a different Bajan selection each day. If you appreciate proper local food, you won't go hungry. If you mainly want chips, pizza, or European dishes, this probably isn't the place for you. Most of the staff are great and friendly, though a few seem miserable. The gift shop on site is also a gem, full of lovely finds, with helpful staff and very fair prices.

The rooms were clean, the food was good, and the staff were really helpful. Still, the hotel feels worn out and needs a lot of care. I went without hot water for two days, which was frustrating. It's in a great spot on a lovely beach, but I won't be back.
