The restaurant staff were quite nice, but the food was far from good. Dishes that should have been hot were warm, and the cold items were warm too. Lunch and dinner choices were very limited: soup or salad to start, then fish or one of two other dishes with rice or steamed vegetables. Dessert had two options, and when they ran out, that was it. Drink choices were limited as well. During the last two days, we were told there was no fresh linen, so the rooms weren’t cleaned and towels weren’t replaced. At most, I’d call this a three-star hotel in financial difficulty. It may look nice at first, but problems cropped up. It’s on a very quiet beach road in the middle of nowhere. I’m partially disabled and need an elevator, but it was out of order for the first two days. Reception staff were very dismissive, only saying it was under maintenance, though nobody was working on it. In fact, an engineer had to be flown to the island the next day. The website showed a spa on the balcony, and there was one, but when I got in, I found it didn’t work. Reception said I hadn’t booked spa treatments. I’d reserved an ocean-view room but got a side-view room; they said they use the same ocean-view image for all rooms.

This was the best value of the four places I stayed during my last four-day hotel visit, after two months in Barbados. The hotel has a beautiful view, and there are picnic tables across the street. Enterprise beach is a short walk, about three houses down the road, and the hotel provides loungers and umbrellas there. The pool is small but clean. Staff were friendly, and the food was okay, with the team happy to accommodate specific requests. There’s 24-hour security and a 24-hour fitness room. I recommend it, especially since Barbados can be pricey and some places feel like a risky gamble.

The staff made this stay for us. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and fun. Niki greeted us on the first day and kindly changed our room because the hot tub wasn’t working. In the mornings, Andreah brought great bar service and jokes. The breakfast and lunch staff were lovely and flexible. I have coeliac disease and need gluten-free food, and Sanchia already knew what I could eat without me having to ask. She’s a real credit to the hotel. Shout-out too to Christina, our waitress, and Rico and Tyrel at the bar for amazing service. The rooms were very nice, with jacuzzis, and the hotel was clean with good music playing all the time. The pool was smaller than I expected but still very nice. Great location near enterprise beach, a short walk to Oistins for the fish fry, and a short drive to Bridgetown.

The main reason I’m giving it 4/5 is that the aircon and hot tub had faults, and the place looks a little tired and could use a revamp. Even so, I’d happily book here again. We’ve just come back from ten days, including my wife’s 40th birthday, and the hotel didn’t disappoint. The setting is beautiful, beside what I think is the island’s best and quieter beach. Food was good and service consistently very good. You can book a free trip to the sister hotel on a bigger beach, with a larger pool. If you’re all-inclusive, you can eat there at no extra charge. We went for a day and enjoyed the change. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the Oistin's fish fry, a must on Friday evenings when it seems the whole island goes. Thanks to the lovely cleaners, and to our favourite waitress Rhianna, who was brilliant and an absolute riot! 😂 The locals were all awesome.

This was our second stay at Abidah, four years after the first, and my husband and I still love the location, nearby favourite beach, friendly staff, tasty food, and quiet, restful atmosphere. The rooms are modern and immaculately clean. But on both visits the elevator was out for almost the whole stay, so we had to walk up and down four flights of stairs. I wondered what elderly guests who couldn’t manage those stairs would do. We weren’t offered any complimentary service for the tiring inconvenience, which was disappointing and took away from the service overall. Would we come back? Probably, but we’d choose a lower floor and give up that great upper-floor view in case the elevator breaks again.
