Almond Beach Resort

The staff made the evening enjoyable from the moment we arrived. The welcome at the gate was warm, and security guided us to safe parking and then toward the front desk, where an usher showed us to the function area. We had a few really good rum punches before the ceremony began. It was well attended, and dinner was good, with courteous, professional staff looking after us. After the meal we danced and mingled, and the bar team deserves a mention too. Thanks to everyone for a great night, and keep up the good work.

Most of the staff were helpful and great, and there’s a nice range of included activities, though the schedules vary. The food options are limited now, and the resort used to have more before closing a large section due to low profitability. The rooms are okay but need maintenance: some beds are fine, while others feel like you’re sleeping on the coils, so it seems to depend on luck. We booked an airport transfer and spa package on the website, but neither was reserved, and we had to make our own way to the resort on arrival. I’d book through a travel agent instead. Bring bug spray, and ask if you want your room sprayed. Swim shoes help because part of the beach is coral reef. At the pool, bring a big cup if you don’t want to keep going back to the bar, since their small plastic cups empty quickly.

We’re waiting for our ride to the airport now, and I just want to get my family out of here. The pools are filthy and shallow, most only around 2-3 ft, and the food is horrible. The hotel is dirty and disgusting. A few staff members were very friendly, but most weren’t helpful and acted like we were bothering them. This is the worst place we’ve ever stayed. It needs to be shut down and rebuilt, and most of the staff shouldn’t be kept. I’d give it less than one star if I could. Stay away.

We’re back for our third year because it’s good value and works really well for kids, especially the kids club. There are several pools with different depths, and the sea along the beachfront is calm. Turtles sometimes show up most evenings before sunset. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s plenty of food across the three restaurants. It tastes nice, though over a two-week stay it gets a bit repetitive. Rooms are clean and tidy, but the bathrooms feel tired.
