Hadrian made our stay. He was so warm and welcoming, and took care of restaurant reservations and taxis with service that went well beyond what we expected. The Colleton Great House is beautiful and clearly cared for with a lot of love. We enjoyed breakfast too, and would happily recommend it. We hope to come back.

The conversations over breakfast were a lovely part of my week at Colleton Great House, and the open space and gentle breezes made it easy to relax. I was travelling alone, and Hadrian, Sharon, and the team were especially thoughtful and kind throughout my stay. The house and gardens are so well looked after, and the historic rooms feel elegant without sacrificing comfort. My experience matched the glowing reviews I had read. It was a memorable holiday, and I’d gladly recommend the place.

Breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start each day, with time to chat with other guests and enjoy the sea views. The terrace was just as nice at sunset with a drink. My wife and I stayed four nights in January 2026 in the Seaview room, which was huge, with a four-poster bed and a lovely bathroom overlooking the sea. The house’s antiques and artwork gave it a calm feel, and the house, grounds, and pool area were spotless. Hadrian, Sharon, and the staff looked after us brilliantly from arrival to departure, and meeting the owners made the stay extra special. We also appreciated the small shared kitchen with its fridge and microwave. Restaurants and bars are a short taxi ride away, and we’d recommend The Fish Pot at the bottom of the hill.

The hosts are what made Colleton Great House so memorable for me. Hadrian and Sharon were warm and attentive, and their knowledge of the house and surrounding area added a lot to the visit. The setting has a real sense of history, but it’s still comfortable and relaxed, with thoughtful details and a peaceful atmosphere. It feels refined without being fussy, and the hospitality never felt intrusive. A lovely choice if you enjoy historic boutique stays and hosts who care.

We went to Colleton Great House in January to see if it might work as a wedding venue, and the view and quiet atmosphere completely won us over. Sharon and Hadrian were two of the loveliest people I’ve met. The staff were friendly, and both the rooms and grounds were clean. I’d give the place 20/20. Our wedding day was beautiful, and I’m grateful to Sharon and Hadrian for that. Our son absolutely loved the pool too. Definitely recommend it.
