Hotel Holy Gate

They let us into our room at 6 am, which helped us a lot, and the staff were very helpful. The location is right in the town center, and the price felt fair. Breakfast was basic, just two items, but tasty. There's a large restaurant and the food is reasonably priced. Recommended if you aren't expecting too much.

The staff made the stay easy. They kept our luggage after we checked out at noon, so we could spend the rest of the day exploring before our night bus. The receptionist was especially professional and helpful. I'd happily stay at Hotel Holy Gate again. The location is a big plus. It's at the start of Mazar Road, opposite Hotel Nurjahan, with places around Sylhet close by. We could take a rickshaw to Panshi or Pach Bhai restaurant, and CNGs were available for tourist spots. The bus and train stations were about 10-15 minutes away. The room was decent for the price, though Room 702 had a gap in the window glass, which looked odd in an AC room. The amenities were sparse: one water bottle, two tiny shampoo packets worth about 1/2 taka each, and a little toothpaste for one use by one person, even though there were two of us. Adding 10-15 taka to the price for better toiletries would help. Breakfast was the weak point. The buffet had only paratha and khichuri, both too oily to enjoy. The eggs were bland and greasy, and the khichuri rice was hard, almost as if it had been fried. Still, the budget price and service make it a good option. Thanks to the receptionist and support staff.

The sheets could have been cleaner, which was disappointing, but the room itself was comfortable and well equipped. Check-in at Britannia Hotel went smoothly thanks to a courteous, efficient receptionist. I was generally pleased with the stay and might return.
