Parking is the main drawback. Ijzerrust sits in a small alley off the main street, with no driveway or private spaces, so you have to park on the main road. Still, it's close to the Belgian-French border, making it handy for trips to Dunkirk and Calais to the west, or Ypres and the Belgian coast to the east. The house is in a small town with the shops you need: two butchers, a baker and a small grocery store. There's also a small supermarket ten minutes away by car. A nice feature is the private forest, 2000 m², with swings and outdoor toys. There's also a sauna with an electric heater, solar panels that reduce electricity costs, and a bicycle. The owners have left lots of information about nearby places, from museums to gas stations. Inside, the decor has a cozy rural, modern rustic style with lots of wood, and the master bedroom has an African theme. The house is surprisingly large, with three bedrooms: one king-size bed (180cm), one queen-size bed (160cm), and a smaller ground-floor room with bunk beds that can also be placed side by side. It's well equipped, with a dishwasher, washer and dryer, microwave and induction cooker. It's also very child friendly, with safety gates on both staircases, a baby chair, two baby beds, a changing table, and lots of toys and board games. A nice, big, well equipped holiday home for families.

The interior is beautifully furnished and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. There's a lovely courtyard and an indoor patio with a BBQ, plus a sauna. The private wooded area is a must for children. A beautiful cottage in Roesbrugge.

The kids can run around while the whole family relaxes. It's a very cozy house, with especially beautiful, spacious rooms. Ideal for a family trip with children.

It's a spotless holiday home, and there's even a sauna. The friendly owner couple were happy to answer all our questions. The area is also great for hiking and cycling.

A really nice holiday home near the French border, about a 25-minute drive from the coast and close to beautiful walking areas.
