Les Jardins de la Molignée

We had a quiet, relaxing few days here, well away from the crowds but still very close to Dinant. The staff were lovely, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was a generous, tasty buffet. The pool and hot tub were a lovely extra while travelling.

I’d think twice before booking a room here. We came for a leisure stay for two. There are some good points: plenty of parking, a good breakfast, a nice restaurant across the road, helpful staff, and a comfortable bed. But the bathroom and shower head were dirty, with hair on the shower head, and the toilet was dirty too. The shower screen let water leak onto the floor, making it slippery. The pool wasn’t clean, the ventilation was very noisy, and the phone had no power supply, so we couldn’t call reception. The terrace hadn’t been cleaned either. Its tables were dirty, and leaves were scattered around. The staff were helpful, though I think the hotel is understaffed and needs to pay attention to important details. In my opinion, it doesn’t deserve four stars and is far too expensive.

The five brother’s restaurant next door was what saved the stay. The building itself is attractive, with an exterior glass elevator. Our room was pleasant, and the pool was fun.

You can get out for a walk in the surrounding nature, and there’s a small village within walking distance. It’s a peaceful spot away from the crowds, and I felt at home with the heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and fitness room. Breakfast was definitely worth having. The restaurant across the street served delicious food. I didn’t get to try the menu next door.
