Aplace

We stayed in their newer apartment at Leeuwenstraat 20, which doesn't show up tagged on Google Maps. Check-in was a little confusing at first, but it was sorted out quickly and smoothly. Calvin was a fantastic host, and the apartment was clean and well furnished.

Karin was lovely throughout, quick to answer questions and there whenever we needed her. The apartment itself is comfortable, with good bedrooms, an immaculate bathroom and toilet, and a compact modern kitchen stocked with what you need to make meals. We especially enjoyed the view over Vrijdagmarkt from the first-floor apartment at night, when the square is lit up. This was our second stay at Aplace Antwerp, this time with my two daughters. I liked it so much on my first visit that I didn't look anywhere else. Vrijdagmarkt is a beautiful spot beside the Plantin Moretus Museum, and the Cathedral, Grote Markt and Meir Ave. are all walkable. There are plenty of major shops and lovely designer stores nearby. From the train station, walking works if you aren't carrying much luggage. I can't imagine choosing anywhere else in Antwerp.

The apartment was bright, with a pleasant bathroom and a well-designed interior. We had a lovely view over the square, where an auction was taking place during our visit. There was also a good coffee machine with coffee included, plus a sound system that connected to a phone or laptop over Bluetooth. It could play LP records too, and there was a decent collection. Very nice place in a good location.

Karin and the whole staff were professional, warm and kind, which really added to the stay. The apartments have spacious rooms, beautifully furnished with care, from the lighting and fresh flowers to the quality linens. Even the bathroom soaps and shower gel are Molton Brown. Aplace sits in the heart of Antwerp, on a cozy square beside the beautiful Plantin Moretus building and museum. The two apartments are amazing. Hard to top.
