Our room was spacious, with the bedroom at the back and a living area and well-equipped little kitchen at the front. The shower and toilet were in separate rooms, and the shower, towels, soap, shampoo, and coffee setup were all first rate. The bed was very comfortable, too, with lovely linens. This is a family-run place sharing a building with its restaurant. At first I couldn't find a hotel entrance, but people going into the restaurant pointed us to the right door. Chef Van Herck welcomed us, and his daughter helped with the bags. There’s an elevator, which is handy in an older building like this. We stayed in room 3 on the third floor. The only small drawback was that the air conditioning was in the bedroom, so with that door shut it didn’t cool the front room. It was very hot for a few days while we were there, but the fan helped and we were fine. We had dinner in the restaurant one night, which I reviewed separately. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Antwerp.

We were travelling with our three-year-old, and everyone was so kind and accommodating. The apartment-style room was beautiful, had everything we needed, and the bed was extremely comfortable, so we all slept well. Even the kitchen was stocked with top-quality utensils. Breakfast was delicious and came with champagne. The hotel is on a quiet street but close to everything in Amsterdam. My only regret is that we didn't have dinner there because we had our daughter with us. We’ll definitely return for a date night.

The restaurant and cellar are a big part of what made this stay so special. The cellar beneath the house is beautiful and worth seeing, and dinner was amazing. We tried things we’d never had before, and the hosts are so friendly. They told us about the history of their home and restaurant, and I’d be open to whatever they recommend next time. Breakfast was a huge spread, so much that I felt bad I couldn’t try it all. The hotel has four suites, all roomy and well equipped. We loved how they looked after us, even staying open for our booking after closing for a week following the holidays. Our dinner reservation at the restaurant and breakfast booking at the bistro were both honored. They were excellent hosts, and I can’t think of anything to fault. It was easily the best part of our trip, maybe ever. Definitely stay here, eat at the restaurant, and have some wine in the cellar.

Dinner was a surprise from start to finish. We went down into a wonderful maze of cellars, where Chef Patrick (Van Herck) served the apéritif and worked out the menu with us. Later, the meal in the beautiful receiving rooms felt like being in a bourgeois Belgian home. The food was classic, rich, and warm. I loved the suite as well. It was clean and spacious, with a great bed and good amenities, and felt like home. Chef Patrick (Van Herck), Marta, and the rest of the staff put a lot of care into giving guests a fun, very different Antwerp experience. My thanks to the small, dedicated team for making the stay so special.

The location was perfect, close to everywhere I wanted to go, so I extended my stay. The place was clean, with a separate bathroom and toilet, a roomy living area, and a kitchen. The bed was super comfy, and I had no problems during my stay.
