Hotel Rubenshof

I only had one night here, as a stop on a long journey, and it worked perfectly. There are plenty of nice bars a short walk away. I was greeted warmly, and my room was quiet, warm and comfortable. I really enjoyed my visit. Sorry I couldn’t stay for breakfast, it smelled delicious!

The superior room was advertised on booking.com as having a balcony, but after climbing the long stairs I found there wasn’t one. I asked for a refund, and the receptionist first said refunds weren’t their policy. After speaking with her manager, she agreed to refund me. She was extremely rude in the meantime and wanted me to cancel before giving written confirmation of the refund. I’ve checked since, and the false information still hasn’t been corrected. Dishonest and rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Good value at about 80 euro a night in September 2025. The tram stop is two minutes away, and the Zuid waterfront is just a couple of blocks away. A place I’d recommend.

The staff are kind and know their stuff, and the hotel has plenty of charm, including a nice view of the street below. The rooms do need some upkeep and possibly renovation, though, and it’s a bit too far from Antwerp Central Station.
