ibis Antwerpen Centrum

I had a really enjoyable four-day stay at the Ibis Antwerpen Centrum. The bed was comfortable, and the clean, cosy room had a TV and desk. The bathroom was a bit tight but worked perfectly well. The hotel is in a great spot, though traffic and other noise can carry. You can add a buffet breakfast, with a good range of hot and cold choices: pastries, cereal, scrambled or boiled eggs, toast, tea, coffee, and juice.

There was quite a lot of work going on at the ibis during our weekend, which was unfortunate. The location is a real plus for visiting Antwerp: there's a market in the square right outside, well worth a wander, and the railway station is only a ten-minute walk away.

The stay was good, and I managed to sleep without much noise from the neighbours. The bed was okay, though not especially comfortable. The shower felt cramped, and its doors weren't sealed, so water ran onto the toilet floor. I could also hear the next room's shower and initially thought I'd left my own tap on.

I needed somewhere for the weekend because my home had no hot water or heating, and I already knew the brand and location. Ibis always leaves me with much the same impression: colourful as a brand, but this property, like the others, could use a facelift. The room felt a little old, and there wasn't much sound protection.
