I was in Park Inn Antwerpen for one business night, and the room’s condition was nowhere near acceptable. The furniture was damaged, the walls were heavily marked and stained, and the cracked bathroom floor showed obvious signs of long-term water damage. It looked as if the room hadn’t been maintained properly for quite some time. I took photos because the state of it was so poor. The complaint process has made things worse. I submitted a formal complaint and have had to follow up repeatedly. Even after sending photos and booking details, along with confirmation from my corporate travel agent, I was asked several times to verify that I had stayed there at all. Both the room and the follow-up fell well below what I expected from the Radisson brand. Business travelers should think carefully before booking this property.

Park Inn doesn’t operate as a full-service hotel: there’s no reception, bar, or restaurant, and the property seemed neglected. We booked two nights in a junior suite, but the room we got on the sixth floor didn’t resemble the website photos. It had only a small terrace, unlike the two suites on the top floor. Both TVs had problems, the air conditioning was faulty, and an unrequested child’s bed blocked the wardrobe. We reported everything to reception at the Radisson Blu across the road. They sent someone over, but some issues couldn’t be fixed, so they kindly moved us to a nice room at the Radisson Blu. That hotel was excellent.

At check-in, nobody told us that our room could only be reached by stairs, even though staff had already seen us with a buggy. That would have been useful to know. We’d booked the Junior Suite with terrace for our anniversary weekend because the listing showed a bathtub, and we’d specifically filtered for one. Instead, the room didn’t match the description on either Booking.com or the hotel website. There was a dead mosquito stain on the wall, and the TV showed “no connection.” We checked out within minutes without using the room. We accepted that no room refund would be given, but felt it was unfair that the city tax wasn’t refunded either. At €160 a night without breakfast, this isn’t cheap for a 3-star hotel. We’ve stayed with the Radisson Blu group many times without problems and take care when booking. We moved to Hilton Antwerp Old Town, where the experience was much better and worth the higher price: a much larger room, excellent amenities and facilities, dinner for our anniversary, breakfast, and access to the executive lounge. The difference in quality and service was clear. I rarely complain, and this is my first 1-star review. The experience was disappointing and felt misleading.

The only things I liked were the location, one minute from the train station, and the excellent breakfast at the nearby Park Blue Hotel. Park Inn Radisson Antwerp City Centr is very old and left a really unpleasant impression. The room was tiny, with old, worn furniture. The walls must once have been white, but they’re yellow and very dirty, as if nobody washes them. The curtains were once white too, but are now dark gray with dirt and dust. The bathroom lighting is so poor you can’t do your makeup or shave properly. The wall and floor tiles are old and cracked, and there’s mold in the corners. I don’t think it’s worth a hundred euros per person per day.

We were happy with our stay. Check-in was across the road at Radisson blu, where they upgraded our room. We also had breakfast there, and the buffet was nice. Parking is in the underground car park in the Radisson building and costs £21 a night. Set your SAT to parking Bee.
