R73 Apartments

Never again. We stayed here in November 2024 and it was awful: the boiler was broken, so there was no heat or hot water, and upstairs was so noisy it sounded like the ceiling might come down. After my bad review, the previous owner got in touch and admitted that this wasn’t right. They gave us the full trip amount as credit for booking another weekend in Antwerp, which they handled properly. Now, less than a year later, the same apartment is available under a new owner, but it costs €180 more. Too bad, we won’t be coming back to Domani.

Check-in was easy despite there being no reception desk, and otherwise the stay was comfortable. The place felt safe and pleasant, was clean and tidy, and worked well for families. The toilet and bathroom are separate, but there’s no sink in the toilet room, only on the bathroom side. There wasn’t a hairdryer either.

The apartment and location were both nice, and check-in, check-out, and customer service were professional and smooth. The landlord was easy to reach and offered to help us park, though that didn’t solve the problem. We’d reserved and paid for a space in advance, but it was so tight that getting our car in risked damaging it. They couldn’t offer a partial refund or any other compensation, which was disappointing, and we had to pay for parking twice. The building was extremely noisy. Whenever the guests upstairs walked around, we couldn’t sleep. The toilet seat was almost loose, some areas hadn’t been dusted in a while, and there was a very strong smell in the apartment. We paid €310 for two nights.

We’d booked the apartment a few days before our Antwerp trip, but while we were already there with our car full of groceries for self-catering, the property called around 12:30 AM to say they were overbooked and couldn’t give us the apartment. They offered a hotel room instead. It seemed very odd that they only noticed the overbooking almost three hours before check-in. Later that day Booking.com said we could have the apartment after all, but by then we already had somewhere else. Very strange!
