Radisson Hotel Antwerp Berchem

I was here for work, and the hotel is in a very convenient spot beside the train station. The room was clean, spacious, and well insulated, so I slept well. Breakfast was good too, with plenty of choice and a local specialty. I didn’t try the fitness room, but it looked full and well equipped from the outside.

I travel often and have stayed in hotels in many countries, but I’ve never run into this before. My room was colder than the corridor, and reception explained that the heating and air-conditioning are locked centrally, so I couldn’t adjust them myself. If I got cold, I had to call and wait for staff to switch the system on or change it, even at night. Heating mattered a lot to me when I booked, especially for a winter stay. I only found out after check-in that features I thought were included weren’t actually provided. It leaves a basic question: how can the terms change while the price stays the same? Decisions that affect guest comfort should be made clear and accepted by customers. Think twice before booking.

The service was spot on, and there’s a pleasant bar area. Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold options. Near Berchem station, this is a modern, clean, practical hotel without frills. Most guests seemed to be male business workers, and they were a quiet, respectful crowd. Well done.

Need bottled water or cutlery? You have to go downstairs and get it yourself, since there’s no room service. Bring a credit card too: they wouldn’t take cash for a bottle of water or add it to my room bill. At midnight, reception said I couldn’t pay cash or settle up in the morning because guests might take the 2.5 euro SPA water bottle and leave without paying. Honestly, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
