Hostellerie du Peiffeschof, The Originals Relais

The owners were caring and attentive, and I really wish I could’ve stayed longer. In the quiet, beautiful surroundings, the restaurant felt high quality. I had slow-cooked lamb casserole served at the table in a Creuset pot, and breakfast had a great selection. The room had all sorts of useful things, including toiletries and a shaving kit, plus the best close-up mirror I’ve ever seen beside the sink. The shower was a delight, with plenty of water and a large shower box. A hidden gem, highly recommended!

The couple who run the hotel are so caring that it quickly feels like an oasis and a familiar place. Rooms are neat and well kept, with all the basics. Breakfast has the usual choices, and the freshly baked goods are excellent. Have a look at the bar for local beers, gins, and Belgian whiskeys, my favorite. The garden is great for relaxing after a day out hiking, biking, sightseeing, or exploring the city. It’s on the outskirts of Arlon, with the small city within walking distance and the Luxembourg border just two roads away. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The woman was friendly, but her husband’s later message wasn’t at all. They told us in person to cancel, yet after we explained we had a baby, they still sent online check-in details. We never stayed, but they’re keeping our money, even though they knew they would refuse us because of the baby and could have offered the room to someone else. It feels like they just want to make money from young families. The pictures look good, but the place and rooms are old, and there’s no restaurant on site anymore.

We had a great time at this small, beautiful hotel surrounded by greenery. The owners were lovely and helpful, and breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade jams. Use of the sauna and hot tub costs extra.
