Mezzo Beringen

I stay here often for work and, in general, everything is good. A few small suggestions: the bathroom has an odor, so maybe air freshener would help. It’d be useful to have tea and coffee in the room too. At breakfast, I’d like a bit more variety in the hot food, perhaps warm beans in tomato sauce. Still, it’s a very good place.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the rooms were clean with a reasonable amount of space. The towels could be better.

I’ve stayed twice. There’s free parking, complimentary water and coffee, a good breakfast, and the rooms are clean and up to modern standards. The main practical issue is the lack of a mini fridge, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing anything that needs to stay cold. I also couldn’t find a way to connect an external device to the TV. There isn’t a lot else to do in the area, but those are minor complaints. The bigger problem for me is that the windows don’t open. It makes the room feel closed in, and even with the air conditioning off, I could hear the ventilation system. Street-facing rooms get a surprising amount of traffic noise at night, with trucks going by and vehicles braking and accelerating near the junction. I don’t understand why the closed windows don’t block more of it. Rooms facing the inside of the U-shaped courtyard look straight at a concrete wall and other rooms’ windows. At around 160 a night, that’s a disappointing view. Large courtyard lamps also shine through the curtains until they’re turned off in the middle of the night. You might convince yourself it’s ordinary light from outside, or you might not. If you’re booking and any of these things matter to you, ask what room options are available.

The room was spacious, the bed was nice, and the bathroom was pleasant. There’s a good restaurant next door, and breakfast had a lovely selection of hot food. Water, coffee, and tea are available free around the clock. My other complaint is that the window doesn’t open. The ventilation left my throat feeling kind of dry.
