We’d gladly stay here again. It’s in a lovely, quiet spot among orchards, right beside a castle, and the bar was great. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout. Our room was roomy and nicely decorated, with tea and coffee facilities, and the bathroom had plenty of space too. Breakfast was very good, with a generous choice of gluten-free breads.

Breakfast was satisfactory, but I left feeling disappointed and won’t stay here or at any of the chain’s hotels again. I had a much better experience at a small independent B&B just a few days earlier. I skipped the spa because I just wanted to leave the next morning, and the restaurant was fully booked, so I couldn’t eat there. A bottle of water cost EUR11, which is crazy. The rooms were large and clean, but felt bare and impersonal, with white walls and no artwork or decorations. My first room smelled disgusting and I had to move. Check-in took over 45 minutes because just one receptionist was handling it, even though other staff were walking around. It sounded great on paper, but reality was different.

The service was great, and the hotel is cute, with a nice blend of old and modern. Still, the design has a few issues. The heating in our room wasn’t working, and they could make the guest experience more comfortable.

I went with a large group, so I expected the place to be ready for that many guests, but it wasn’t. During our three-course dinner, from the second course through the end of the third, I sat without water or wine, and the waiters seemed completely unaware. For the prices, the service felt unprofessional, and the wine wasn’t five-star quality either. The food itself had flavor, apart from the dessert, which I still can’t identify. It was neither sweet, salty nor bitter, just tasteless. I wouldn’t return given the price for what you get. I’m not sure this place deserves five stars.
