The room could use a renovation. Everything felt very old, and there wasn't proper sound insulation, so it was quite noisy. Maybe we just got unlucky with our room. The tasty, nice breakfast at their partner hotel, hotel Aazaert, is the only reason I'm giving four stars.

€5 for a cappuccino from an automat in the morning was a bad experience. At that price, many cafés would make you a proper one with a barista, and in some places you could even get two decent ones.

There were barely any outlets for charging a phone, laptop, or other electronics. The room was really small for the price, and there was a high chance of getting a poor view. They called it an upgrade from the hotel we'd originally booked, but it definitely wasn't. The people were nice, though the cleaning service was so insistent they kicked us out of the room to clean.

The service was good, and the food and portion size were perfect. What threw me was the difference between two servings of mussels: my partner got big, tasty ones, while the ones in my pot were shrivelled and scrappy.

The food was good both times I went. On my first evening visit, it was full but service was good and quick, with a nice range of food and good quality and taste. The second time, I waited longer after trying to get someone's attention, then an energetic waitress put me in my place and showed no sympathy when I said I wanted to order. It's a shame, because I'd like to come back a third time, but...
