I’ve been riding at Ruiterhof Bredene for years, and I want to congratulate the management for making riding available to so many people in a professional and affordable setting. Some people complain that the rooms aren’t perfectly clean, but it’s a horse farm, not a five star hotel. Children don’t mind; it’s the snobbish parents who complain, though they can’t afford a four or five star hotel. And yes, people sometimes fall off horses. It’s no big deal, I’ve fallen off mine many times onto the soft ground. If you want a great horse riding experience in a lovely place, I strongly recommend Ruitershof.

My nine year old daughter has been taking riding lessons at this school for two months, and until yesterday I was completely satisfied with the service. During the lesson, she fell from the horse while it was trotting. The teacher’s reaction shocked me. She seemed completely indifferent, didn’t come over or ask whether my child was okay. Nobody else on the staff came to reassure either of us that they cared about their young students. I hope the fall won’t have any lasting consequences and will just remain a bad memory. I don’t believe falls like this are supposed to happen during lessons. I want to warn parents that not every teacher is reliable or cares for your little rider.

There are two riding areas inside, one for beginners and one for more experienced riders. My kid goes to lessons every Sunday. It costs 10 euro for one lesson, and you need to make an appointment. There’s also a bar and places to sit.

You can sit and watch people riding horses, which was really nice. The food was really great too, and the service was top notch.
